Cherry/Eastern Red Cedar Wood Keepsake Box
What a unique gift this would make! Solid wood, Cherry, and Eastern Red Cedar with a Peachcot inlay on the lid. A perfect box to keep treasured keepsakes and mementos, Rosary beads, reminders of a special day, or pictures of loved ones.
Specifications
All boxes are made from solid wood, not lesser quality wood with veneer put on top of it to make it look expensive.
The main box is made from Cherry. The feet are Eastern Red Cedar. The lid is made from Cherry, Cedar, and a Peachcot inlay. Peachcot is not well known about in the USA but is common in European countries. The lid handle has an aluminum rod going through the middle, just to give it a bit of class!
The top outside length (with feet) measures 8. 1/4" (20.955cm), and the bottom (with feet) measures 8 3/4" (22.225cm).
The top outside width (with feet) measures 5 3/8" (13.652cm), and the bottom (with feet) measures 5 7/8" (14.922cm).
The Height of the box sitting on the feet with the lid off is 2 1/2" (6.35cm), and with the lid on it is 4 1/2" (11.43cm).
Inside of the box measures 7 1/4" (18.41cm) long, by 4 1/4" (10.79cm) wide, by 1 3/8" (3.492cm) deep.
Construction
The Peachcot wood was locally harvested by me. It has been cut into a thin 1/8" (.317cm) sheet, then using only the best-looking section to give it its beauty and uniqueness.
The Cherry and Eastern Red Cedar wood was hand selected by me for its quality and look. Each piece is cut down, shaped, and sanded down progressively from 100 up to 320 grit. Several coats of Laquer have been applied to keep the box looking beautiful for a lifetime.
